Karen Scott – Physiotherapist & Pilates Instructor

Hi, I’m Karen and I am an experienced State registered Chartered Physiotherapist. I started my career in 1999 at the Royal Liverpool University hospital, working in a variety of clinical settings, including, Musculoskeletal (MSK) Out-Patients, Orthopaedics, Respiratory, Neurology and Rheumatology

I decided to specialise in MSK Physiotherapy and  since then I have worked in both an NHS hospital and community environment as well as in the private sector. I have continued to develop professionally, adding many skills to my Physiotherapy tool box, which I use to treat an array of musculoskeletal conditions for all age groups. This includes Acupuncture, Sports Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Ergonomics, Taping, Exercise Rehabilitation as well as of course Pilates!

Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, I had a career in Ballet, performing as a member of the Hamburg State Opera Ballet Company. This is where I was first introduced to the Pilates method, as a dancer, and recognised its benefits  in enhancing performance and preventing potential injury. As a Physiotherapist I perceive it as invaluable in the rehabilitation of all spinal conditions as well as promoting a sense of general well- being. I trained with the APPI to become a Pilates instructor and I am excited to share my love for this form of exercise with all age groups.
