Our Matwork Classes
All our classes are taught by Physiotherapists who are trained in Pilates and each class is tailored to suit people with differing needs. We believe in keeping class sizes small, this makes sure we can modify exercises where needed and give you the feedback you need.
Due to the impact of Covid, we are currently running our classes in village halls.
Class sizes range from 7 to a maximum of 12 people, depending on the location and current guidelines.
Before You Start Classes
We want you to get the most out of attending our sessions. The more we know about you, including your goals and any injuries or medical conditions, the more we can help. For this reason we require you to attend a 50 minute individual consultation with one of our Physiotherapists, before joining a class.
This ensures that we are able to find the right class at the right level to suit your needs.
If we feel that any of the exercises may need to be modified slightly in the classes it gives us an opportunity to go through this with you alongside some other Pilates exercises. We are currently conducting these sessions over Zoom.
We offer a “New Starter Package” that includes your initial consultation and a block of classes as well as a 10% discount.

Already practising Pilates?
We sometimes get asked if you need an assessment if you are already doing Pilates? We feel that to get the most out of the sessions an individual appointment before you start will focus you on what you want to get out the classes but also help us advise the right level class for you. However, we do understand that if you have been practising Pilates for a while you may prefer just to join a class and we are always happy to discuss this with you. Just drop us a message and we’ll be happy to help.
What to Expect in a Class
We start the 50 minute class in standing. Focusing on warming up the body and mind, thinking about posture and breathing. Exercises may include those to work on balance, strength and flexibility. We then move onto the mat, exercises may include different positions such as side lying, hands and knees, lying on your back or front. The exercises that we do will depend on the type and level of the class. You can find more details about each class below.
What to Bring
Due to covid, we are currently unable to provide mats so please bring your own mat to the sessions and a small towel or cushion to support your head. It is also advisable to bring a drink to keep hydrated.
Please refer to our Covid Policy for more details on what we are doing to ensure the safety of our clients and instructors at this time.
